October is a very busy Bonsai month for Shibui Bonsai. Early in the month Canberra Bonsai Society holds their annual show and Shibui Bonsai has a sales table. This year the show was in a different venue which meant more space for the trees on show and for the traders. They put on a great show again and we passed on plenty of potential bonsai to new owners. Here are a couple of the trees on display:
Later in the month a couple of local bonsai addicts compete at the Myrtleford Show and spend all Saturday talking to people, passing on hints, tips and, hopefully, our enthusiasm for growing bonsai.
You can read more about the friendly rivalry and see more photos from Myrtleford show at Ausbonsai Myrtleford Bonsai
This coming weekend will see our local bonsai club display trees at the Albury Show and again try to pass on our enthusiasm for the art form. the horticulture section has been moved to a new shed this year so fingers crossed that we will have space to put on another good display.
November 11 and 12 this year is the annual Bonsai North West show in Footscray. Shibui Bonsai will be adding stock for the trading tables there so if you are in Melbourne and looking for good bonsai or pre bonsai go along and check the sales area or just view the great bonsai on display for the weekend. Any Melbourne customers who would like us to bring down something special should let me know soon. Free delivery if you can pick up when we arrive at Footscray on Friday afternoon.
