A new venture for Shibui Bonsai is our hand-crafted bonsai display stands. As I found suitable show stands were hard to find and invariably, the wrong size or style, in 2024 I began making my own experimenting with different designs and construction techniques. I am using a variety of timbers including native timbers such as blackwood, red gum and ash, and various finishes including lacquer, stain and natural oil\/wax.<\/p>\n\n\n

Now that I am happy with the end product, I have a selection of stands for sale. As well I am also offering a custom made service.<\/strong> Mix and match sizes, height and bracing, and I\u2019ll try to make the perfect bonsai table for your tree! I’ll need to know the length, width, height, leg brace design, type of timber, type of finish (including raw\/no finish), and floating top or direct to leg assembly, that you would like. If you’re not sure exactly, I’m happy to discuss options\/possibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our stands are sturdy and feature tops with mitre joints with splines to ensure long lasting, strong joints; mortice and tenon joints on braces and leg joints; and dowels join tops to base.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
